For reviewers

Before Accepting

Global Medical Reviews uses double-anonymized external peer review for scholarly articles. Reviewers assess both the main manuscript and relevant supplementary materials. Recommendations are advisory; the handling editor and, where required, the Editor-in-Chief make the final decision.

Accept only when all conditions are met

  • The subject and methods fall within your current expertise.
  • You can complete the assessment by the due date.
  • You can remain objective and independent.
  • You have no financial, professional, institutional, supervisory, personal or competitive conflict.
  • You can protect all materials as confidential.

Potential conflicts

Do not guess whether a relationship is acceptable. Use I may have a potential conflict — ask the editor and describe the circumstances. The invitation will remain on hold until the editor responds.

Declining

Declining promptly is preferable to accepting an unsuitable assignment. A brief reason helps the Editorial Office identify another reviewer. Suggested reviewers may be provided, but the journal independently checks their suitability.
