Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy

Credible allegations are documented, assessed confidentially and handled through a proportionate process before or after publication.

Report a concern

Concerns may be sent through the secure Report a concern form or to integrity@globalmreviews.kz. Reports should identify the manuscript or article, describe the concern and provide verifiable supporting information. Anonymous reports are considered when sufficiently specific.

The journal acknowledges a documented concern within 5 working days whenever contact details are available.

Covered concerns

  • Fabrication, falsification and plagiarism.
  • Duplicate publication, manipulated images or data, and fabricated or unverifiable references.
  • Authorship manipulation, undisclosed conflicts and citation manipulation.
  • Peer-review manipulation, paper-mill indicators and systematic manipulation of the publication process.
  • Misuse of confidential material and undisclosed or prohibited use of AI.

Preliminary assessment

  • The journal assigns a case number and restricts access to authorized staff.
  • A non-conflicted editor assesses whether the allegation is specific, credible and within journal responsibility.
  • The review or publication process may be paused when necessary.
  • Evidence and audit records are preserved.

Author response and institutional involvement

The person or author concerned normally receives a clear description of the issue and 14 calendar days to respond, subject to confidentiality, legal and evidence-preservation needs. The journal may contact employers, universities, ethics committees, funders, other journals or competent authorities when a formal investigation is required. The journal does not substitute for an institution’s authority to investigate personnel or primary data.

Interim and final actions

  • Pause review, acceptance or publication.
  • Request raw data, search records, analyses or permissions.
  • Publish an Expression of Concern when serious unresolved risk exists.
  • Reject, correct, update, retract or withdraw content as appropriate.
  • Notify relevant institutions or authorities.
  • Restrict an author, reviewer or editor from future participation when justified.

Response and retention

Affected parties receive a reasoned outcome and may submit one documented response. Investigation records are kept securely for at least 10 years, or longer when law, litigation, institutional inquiry or preservation of the scholarly record requires it.

Use the appropriate secure route when a matter requires a documented response.
